If you don’t get enough Peter Capaldi after watching the Series 10 premiere of Doctor Who, be sure to catch BBC America’s premiere of Class, 15 April. Check your local listings for times.
Class is the latest spin off of the Doctor Who universe, joining other spin offs such as: Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Chronicles.
Episode One of Class takes us back to Coal Hill School (now Coal Hill Academy). April, Ram, Charlie and Tanya are four students preparing for Autumn Prom, aided by the Doctor and guided by physics teacher, Ms. Quill, the four will have to fight the Shadow Kin, an alien race that they learn got to the Academy through a time rift. The group of teenagers must fight aliens, monsters and any other danger that comes through the time rifts. Capaldi appears his role as “The Doctor” in Episode One.
Coal Hill Academy has been a part of Doctor Who history since its creation in 1963. The Doctor’s, (William Hartnell) granddaughter, Susan Foreman was a student at the school. More recently, The Doctor’s companion, Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) was a teacher at Coal Hill. With Class, Whovians are once again brought to Coal Hill Academy, it’s mysteries, and it’s connections to the Doctor Who universe.
Class is created by Patrick Ness and directed by Ed Bazalgette. Series One has aired in the UK but will now be available for viewing on BBC America directly after Series 10 of Doctor Who. and
