Radio Times kicks off its celebration of 21st Century sitcoms by inviting fans to vote for their favourite from the shortlist of 40 sitcoms.
In among some great shows is the political satire, ‘The Thick of It’ starring Peter Capaldi as foul-mouthed spin doctor Malcolm Tucker.
Capaldi played Malcolm Tucker between 2005 and 2012 and it all proved to be a huge success. In 2010 Capaldi received a British Academy Television Award for Best Male Comedy Performance and a British Comedy Award for Best TV Comedy Actor in 2012. While the show itself also won a string of BAFTA’s.
The series, written by Armando Iannucci also stars Chris Langham, Rebecca Front, Chris Addison and Joanna Scanlan.
Also on the Radio Times short list is The Office, The Inbetweeners, Gavin and Stacey and Twenty Twelve/W1A narrated by Tenth Doctor David Tennant.
